The Darlene Hooley Scholarship

You must: 

• Be currently serving or have previously served in the Oregon National Guard or in a Military Reserve Component as an Oregon resident after September 11, 2001.
• Have been deployed overseas in support of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) under “Honorable Conditions.”
• Be enrolled in an Oregon educational institution of higher learning.
• Be enrolled at least half time as determined by your school.

You must complete the following steps:

• Create a Student Profile with the Office of Student Access and Completion (OSAC)
• Complete and submit the FAFSA 
• Complete and submit the Darlene Hooley Scholarship for Oregon National Guard and Reserves Application
• Submit a copy of your DD-214 (Title 10 USC orders) or NGB-22 (Title 32 USC orders) to verify eligible service period and character of discharge.

After your application is processed and the amount of your award is determined, your funds will be disbursed (sent) to your college or your university's Business Office. OSAC does not have control over the time it takes your particular school to apply your funds to your student account. Some schools apply funds to your account at the beginning of the term, and others wait until add/drop date is over. Some schools may be short-staffed or closed during certain holiday or break periods and may take longer to apply your funds. Please contact your school regarding receipt of your funds before you contact OSAC.
