The FAFSA or ORSAA is used to determine eligibility for financial aid opportunities including Oregon financial aid programs like the Oregon Opportunity Grant, the Oregon Promise Grant, and many need-based OSAC scholarships. Many colleges and universities also use the FAFSA or ORSAA to determine eligibility for financial aid opportunities. The FAFSA is required for all federal financial aid opportunities including the Federal Pell Grant, Federal Direct Loans, and Federal Work-Study. Submit your FAFSA or ORSAA as soon as possible after October 1 for the best chance at qualifying for financial aid.
Students should complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after the application opens each year. Applying early ensures that students can access the most financial aid opportunities available to them.
The Oregon Student Aid Application (ORSAA) is an alternative to the FAFSA for undocumented Oregon students including students who have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status or Temporary Protected Status (TPS). By filing the ORSAA, eligible undocumented and DACA students in Oregon can get help paying for college through grants, scholarships, and tuition reduction.
Eligible students should complete the ORSAA as soon as possible after the application opens each year. Applying early ensures that students can access the most financial aid opportunities available to them.
