Oregon Promise Grant

The Oregon Promise is a state grant that helps cover tuition costs at any Oregon community college for recent high school graduates and GED® test graduates. Students must apply during their senior year or immediately after GED® test completion. The application is currently open for GED® students who will graduate between March 1, 2024 and June 30, 2024. 

High school students who will graduate prior to June 30, 2024 have missed their deadline (June 3). GED students who graduated prior to March 1, 2024 have missed their deadline (March 10). The application opened in September 2023 for students who graduate between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024.

For students who graduate between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, the application will open mid-September 2024.

Award Amounts

Award range for full-time, full-year students:

2023-24: $2,058 to $4,248

2024-25: $2,124 to $4,422

Program Updates

JUNE 2024

  • Awarding has began for Class of 2024 and renewal students as of 5/27/24. There is a tentative SAI limit of 22,000 for new students - this is a pending status that will be reevaluated in mid-July to determine if there are sufficient funds to award additional students.
  • The application is open for GED students who graduate between March 1, 2024 and June 30, 2024. Deadline varies by graduation date.
  • Next deadline: JULY 10 - GED students who graduate between 3/1/24 - 06/30/24. Submit OPG app AND 2024-25 FAFSA/ORSAA to start college Fall Term 2024-25.
  • Renewal students (current college students) and Class of 2024 HS students have missed their deadline (June 3).
