Many ASPIRE sites across Oregon have created mentor opportunities for community volunteers. As an ASPIRE mentor you will play a unique role in the life of a student as you help guide and assist them in pursuing education and training beyond high school.
We see that students who participate in mentoring programs see increased interest in education and training beyond high school. Mentor engagement also improves classroom attendance, increases academic performance, and gives students hope for their future. Successful mentors enjoy working with youth, are reliable and consistent, follow programs policies and procedures, and bring enthusiasm to the role.

One of the great things about ASPIRE is that the program is flexible, and coordinators can customize their program based on their site needs and goals. In fact, no ASPIRE program will be exactly the same. While all ASPIRE sites share the same mission to create a career and college readiness culture within their site, not all ASPIRE Sites are set up with a mentor program. But those that have a mentor program are extremely excited and appreciative of the time you will offer to make an impact in the lives of students.
